On 13th Fab., Epic Foundation, a non-profit organization lead by Co-Founders of HCL, Dr. Ajai Chouwdhry and Arjun Malhotra, announced the inaugural ‘Made in India; tablet Milkyway’.  The collaborative efforts of IRIS Global Services, VVDN Technologies, MediaTek India, and CoRover.ai have produced an AI-enabled tablet, primarily tailored for the education sector in India.

The Milkyway tablet offers a numerous of AI-centric features designed specifically for the education sector. Its target market includes government schools across the nation, aiming to establish a Strong presence. This tablet is powered by Android OS, with sleek design, and features cameras on both front and back sides.

Specs and features:

The Milkyway tablet is powered by a MediaTek SoC, delivering impressive performance with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage capacity. Featuring an 8-inch HD display, it supports Bluetooth ver. 5.0, Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE connectivity options. With Android 13 out of the box, it offers seamless operation and is backed by a robust 5100mAh battery. Equipped with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, which enables video calls.

Leveraging BharatGPT, an Indian counterpart of ChatGPT, the Milkyway tablet integrates advanced AI capabilities. Its virtual assistant offers diverse tools such as voice, video, and chat assistance to support students. Moreover, this tab includes a real-time speech translation application. These features are provided free of charge for the initial year, after which they will be subject to subscription based.

The tablet boasts easy reparability and a long lifespan.
