Will sell own branded HMD Phones along with Nokia Branded Phones.
Finnish phone maker and the new home of Nokia branded devices HMD global just announced that they are releasing new phones under own brand name along with Nokia branded Phones.
Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of HMD Global Oy. Jean-Francois Baril shared a LinkedIn post on Monday (Sep. 11) regarding announcement of this news. Jean-Francois Baril stated in the post-
“I am thrilled to announce a significant milestone in HMD’s evolution – we are establishing an original HMD brand. You can expect to see a new portfolio of HMD branded mobile devices, as well as Nokia devices and collaboration with exciting new partners. “
HMD Global History
In 2016, Microsoft sold its feature phone division $350M to newly formed HMD Global Oy by former Nokia Employees and FIH Mobile (a subsidiary of Foxconn).
HMD Global signed a 10 year exclusive brand licensee deal with Nokia for Mobile devices which will expire in 2026 if not renewed before it.
HMD consistently launching devices with recyclable material, eco-friendly design and newer devices with QuickFix technology. Making them easier to repair and long durable.
Once upon a time, Nokia was a legendary name in the mobile industry. their iconic phones like Nokia 6600, Nokia 3310, N95 was massive success. But Nokia did not adopt changing user preferences and innovation, which led to their failure.
Currently, Nokia-branded phones being manufactured at Foxconn.
Under the Nokia Name, HMD is selling feature phones, entry level, mid budget and rugged android.
